Millions of Jews the world over anticipate the rebuilding of the Holy Temple, but do we truly know what it is that we look forward to?
The upcoming book, “The Holy Temple Rebuilt,” is designed to explain in clear and simple language:
What exactly is the Holy Temple, and what is the secret of its essence?
What significance does the service performed within it have for our modern lives?
What exactly is the “Indwelling of the Divine Presence” (Hashra’as HaShechinah) that will occur with its construction?
What will every Jew feel on the day when Hashem returns to His people with love and mercy to dwell among us, after two thousand years of exile and of concealing His Presence?

“And they shall make Me a sanctuary, and I will dwell among them.” Our Sages explain: “Within each and every individual of Israel.”
The purpose of the Holy Temple is not merely to serve as a repose for the A-lmighty’s Presence, but to act as a statement:
See this and sanctify” within your own soul, and construct the personal Holy Temple of your life.
In Kabbalah in general, and in the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in particular, every detail of the Temple, its vessels, and the services performed within it is interpreted according to its deep philosophical meaning for a life of wholesomeness and Jewish sanctity.
The Indwelling of the Divine Presence that will occur with the building of the Holy Temple will change the global atmosphere and instill in the hearts of man the spirit of eternal truth and the power to choose good.
Many fine people in the present era are devoted to reconstructing and teaching the form of the Temple and its vessels, and to studying the laws involved in its various services; however, very few deal with its immense significance and the vast change it will bring to our lives as individuals and as a nation.
If we truly knew the significance of the Holy Temple, we would pray with all our might for its imminent rebuilding, for it is the realization of all good to which we aspire for ourselves, for our children, and for future generations—and as Jews, without it, our lives are not truly life.
The Holy Temple will influence all of humanity and illuminate the world with Divine light, which will instill the world with a renewed spirit, bringing with it a thirst to know Hashem.
All of society will be occupied with the knowledge of Hashem and the secrets of creation, and will no longer see any point in wars or conflicts, as we are assured by the prophet:
“Nation shall not lift up sword against nation… and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks.”
This book explains in detail how all of this will come to pass.
